Brown on Gray

It's ugly as hell. But I love it!
And yes, sometimes the San Francisco sky looks like this...

Slides

San Francisco has a few of these hard-ass slides. Apparently they are best with cardboard...

These ones are on Seward St. Hidden deep in Acme park.

Arachnophobia for Halloween

There seems to be one big theme for this Halloween in San Francisco...

GIANT SPIDERS!!!

After all, we are in Giants country...

One last one :

Painted Ladies

Until the day I took that picture I really thought that these painted ladies were overrated!

And in fact, I think they are. Unless you come and see them with the sun in your back.
Then they are gorgeous...

Near Buena Vista Park.
Where else?

Opposite the famous Painted Ladies, a playground with its own little houses...
So cute.

Love thy neighbor

The owner of this car is not my neighbor but I love them anyway...

San Franciscans are amazing!

Legos in need, Legos indeed.

The Randall museum in San Francisco allows kids to experiment with the idea of an earthquake... They have set up moving plaques on which kids (or not) can build up buildings using plain old big legos.
The very first time I saw this, it made me very queasy!

Today, let's say that I've come to terms (with my kids) toying with shakeouts!

What I did notice was that the legos were getting a little tired...

So, if you have some old legos around, please bring them to the Randall Museum.

Nature is stronger

Sometimes I wonder why we worry about Nature...

History has proven again and again that Nature will stay when we are long gone.

This beautiful flower was blooming through a crack of pavement.  I only had my phone with me. The colors/contrasts were stunning. Especially on that gray background.

Wow. Nature's amazing!

Open Air (private) Gallery

When I first started this blog, I thought that I would probably run out of things to photograph...
Not so.

Every stroll brings a little peculiarity that only belongs to this city!

The thing  is that I had walked/driven past this one very often, until I finally noticed it.

The Light House

I think I may have noticed it before but had never given it a thought...

I rarely go there.
That park with a view.  Where people go on sunny Sundays...

Anyway. On Dolores street, there is a closed building. I don't know what it is...
(I googled it)

Now you see me : Blue Angel in SF sky

Thursday, October 9th.
The noisy noise was deafening... But it was fun trying to spot them!

I'll be ready today trying to get them on their way to the Marina!

Traditional

That rooster kept turning, following its true nature... Until I managed to get a good shot of it!

Peacock

Another one of the artful little things that pop up in the city.

Because of the work on Castro street, I decided to change my route and while I was tailgating, I saw this. Good timing, I thought :)
I walked back there the other day just for him.

Castro, I just saw another one of your peacock...
(This one's nice!)

Pumpkins

I like pumpkins. I had never given them much of a thought really but now that I think of it, they are so much part of my culture...
Cinderella (a childhood favorite), the Smashing Pumpkins (a teenager favorite), the Pumpkin Spice Rooibos (a tea favorite) and now, all the pumpkins we see everywhere :

My favorite one to eat is tougher to find : Potimarron in French. (Red Kuri Squash). Un délice...

It's (almost) over... the rainbow!

For those who live round here and have to take their car (to school) every morning, seeing the last workers truck go would be a thing to celebrate...

Granted, the street looks awesome! For pedestrians mainly, but still.

Reminder

I like this.
After watching The Normal Heart, I like it even more...

It's on the wall of one of my doctor's room. Makes sense.

A reminder, I guess : 'When used consistently and correctly, condoms are highly effective in preventing HIV.' (in aids.gov )
