Fifty Shades...

Oh well, not fifty, but you got the idea!

Ornamental Hoarding

Art comes in many different ways in the streets of San Francisco...

Art on a House

People here are obsessed with this woman...

I must admit I am not familiar with her paintings at all.

Lady on Socks

You see plenty of fun t-shirts and fun socks in the city...

These ones reminds me of another post : that one!
In the Mission. (Where else?)

Favorite Painted Houses

The 4 seasons are represented on these very old houses.

My camera being a small tiny thing can't get them all properly...

Dress Warm in the De Young!

Last week I washed all the scarves and hats of the house... It was so sunny and had been so for so long. I thought Spring was here!

Two days later,  I found a great post online that oozed wisdom.

When in San Francisco,  follow the guide!

Priscilla

I'm humming Abba right now and I have images of Terence Stamp in the Finally sequence...

That movie is a must see.

Vintage Post

The first one I see in San Francisco.

I am not sure it is an original one but it's nice all the same.

Little i wants a little L...

(I'm a Jamiroquai fan)

Back to the Fifties...

That sign looks old. It stands high in the blue sky. A very old fashioned sign. Along with the barber sign (which I haven't seen in the city). I like it.

Graffiti, Curfew and Murals

For some obscure reason, my daughter mixes these three words up...

Neighborhood Library

The first one I have come across.

Others exist. I've seen the picture of at least one more. (a future post, no doubt)

Stairs, New York Style

Stairs again today.

These ones are rare here and almost a trademark for the East Coast.

Green Day

Happy St Patrick's day !

(There are 12 Dublin in the USA :)

Mural, Mural, On the Wall.

I particularly like this one. Very minimalist. 3 colors.

Not the typical style of the area.

Camouflage

I love those blue birds. They are so beautiful. That electric blue is mesmerizing. I had never seen anything like this before coming here.

I see one from my kitchen window sometimes. (Not this one though)

This one was making a funny sound before I saw it.
It was camouflageing...

SF niners no more...

Like the Giants of New York, the Niners will now play away from their hometown...
I find it so odd!

Umbrellas in Japantown

I like Japantown.

We first visited it quite by chance. During the J Pop Festival. 4 months after the Tsunami. The solidarity was immense. I was so impressed.

St James

Most churches are closed here. Except during mass. I find it fishy...

(Pas très catholique, tout ça ! ;)

Cover that breast...

"Couvrez ce sein que je ne saurais voir" (Molière : Tartuffe. 1664)

I like this mural. I generally drive by so I hadn't seen all of it...

The lady is obviously cold.

She forgot she was in San Francisco!

Stairs

This post is for my husband.  He likes these stairs.

I like the brick wall. It reminds me of Toulouse, France. La ville rose.

Most Holy Redeemer

A very interesting church as far as architecture is concerned...

Especially for a European like me!

Nude or Rude?

The other doll display...

A reminder of a now illegal habit of some San Franciscans that was, I think, a real eyesore to the city.

I like the sculpture up in the tree!

Caviar, anyone?

No, I'd rather have artichokes !

From Noe Valley Farmers Market.

Art in the air

They keep appearing everywhere I look...

And disappearing!

I wonder who removes them. The artist who created them or the city?

This one is in the Castro.
