Too cool for School....

Old, very old bumper sticker that is certainly still valid today.

(Mind you, schools nowadays don't do bake sales any more) (at least not here, not my kid's.)

Cut Tower

I like this photograph. It seems cut and badly glued back together...

I do not particularly like this tower but if it was not there anymore, San Francisco would not be the same.

A real landmark for sure.

Gay Pride

'All boys are affected by the taunts, insults, and violence against gay men and against boys who are labeled as fags, queers, and sissies. Even the boys who aren't being targeted themselves are hurt by the antigay, anti-sissy atmosphere, because they all have to prove their manhood constantly, or face the consequences.'
Lawrence  J Cohen in Playful Parenting.

I had never thought about that before...

Tribute

Nobody should die while doing their job.

I am grateful to the men and women of the San Francisco Fire Department who risk their lives for us, sometimes for our mere possessions.

And if I may, thank you to the firefighters of the world.

Baker street

In the house, we have a bag that reads : "I left my sourdough in San Francisco..." Yep.

My favorite bread is in the Ferry Building where I rarely go. But when I go, I always buy une baguette !

Légion d'honneur

A replica of the Legion of Honor in Paris which I visited a long time ago, as a teen, with my parents.

Hence forgotten.

I like what's inside this one!

Holy Virgin

Holy Virgin Cathedral on Geary Bd.

My grand-father used to live close to a Russian church similar to this one. Each time I drove past it, I think of him and my father...

Swan lake

There are many different birds in San Francisco. This one was easy to photograph...

After having watched The Big Year, I tried my best to take a few shots at some of them. Tough job.
I need a lot more equipment.

I still like to watch them. And I enjoy each new photo with a new sense of wonder.

Near the Palace of Fine Arts.

Mimosa

(Acacia dealbata)
As the French call it.

I see these tiny yellow flowers on a clear blue sky and it feels like home...

Nevada Front Yard!

I wonder if their neighbors are singing the third verse of my blog song!

My daughter loves it though. This post is for her.
